    Overnight

Newborn Care

Sleep is crucial, especially for new parents, recovering birthing people, and new babies!

Overnight care typically focuses on the sleep and recovery for all family members. Since this looks unique to everyone, it could include bottle feeding while parents sleep full stretches, waking a parent to nurse, or feeding baby and waking parent for pumping sessions. There are plenty of flexible options to fit your needs!

Other than prioritizing sleep, the night may include:

  • Physical and emotional support

  • Safe sleep spaces

  • Age-appropriate sleep schedules

  • Soothing techniques

  • Swaddling

  • Diapering (including cloth)

  • Baby wearing

  • Washing bottles and pump parts

  • Quietly folding baby laundry

  • Detailed notes after each visit to maintain communication

  • Feeding support (bottle, formula, breast/chest, re-lectation, SNS)

  • General newborn care

  • Education on newborn development, milestones, and non-medical concerns such as reflux and colic

  • Experience with the most recent products (baby monitors, bottles, swaddles, diapers, noise machines, sterilizers, etc.)

    Support

Transitions and changes to schedules can be difficult for everyone! When bringing in a new baby this can create so many emotions within siblings. With an extensive background in nannying, I am fully equipped with the knowledge and training to care for older siblings.
