Do you have a 4th-trimester plan?

The 4th trimester describes the first three months a baby spends on the outside of its parent’s body… Birth through the first 3 months.

While this is an incredibly exciting time, it certainly comes with its own challenges. As we all know… new babies need things around the clock!

The 4th trimester involves adapting to the ever-changing needs of your newborn while dealing with sleep deprivation, and the emotional and physical recovery from birth. It requires you to give all of yourself day and night while you are in the midst of exploring and learning everything you can to get it right for your baby.

A newborn can undoubtedly bring about joyous times and memories, yet it can also bring challenges and changes. For example, the emotional toll of sleep deprivation. Having professional support during those late-night hours with your newborn are an opportunity to not only get much needed rest for you to feel your best self for your baby the next day, but also connect and bond with your partner amidst the chaos of establishing new routines.

My expertise in newborn care and understanding of the emotional, psychological, and physical demands of parenthood can provide much-needed relief to all members of the family. I offer many services to help ease the transition into parenthood like guidance on feeding options, soothing techniques, sleep cycles and schedules, burping, safe sleep, multiples, empowerment and encouragement for the parents, and more.

Have you ever dreamt about having support with the practical tasks while you have ample time bonding with your new baby? Perhaps the tedious tasks like light household tidying, bottle and milk preparation, pump/bottle sterilization, nursery organization, or waking up to a freshly emptied diaper pail sounds helpful!

I can help you navigate the 4th trimester and guide you toward taking the right first steps.

As a parent, I know you have goals. As a doula and Newborn Care Specialist, I have the techniques that can enable you to meet and surpass those goals!

For New Dads!

New dads play an imperative role in newborn care. You can wake up during the night with your baby and partner to support feeding, refill waters, then take over burping and soothing. This gives you a chance to help your partner AND bond with baby!

Picture this:

As you stumble from bed, in the midst of the night, the sound of the baby's cries reverberates through the silence, and you find yourself navigating in the dimmed room while reaching for your little one.

Diaper changing, feeding, and tending to the baby amid the night is a divine routine that is challenging to establish initially, yet so very important. Here, a rare bond develops between the father and the child. This is that time of the night when it feels like you and your baby are the only ones awake while the rest of the world sleeps.

Then, come morning, strewn throughout the room, you see all the used diapers, the playthings, the waters, the empty bottles, and the feeling of having been in "crisis mode" just hours earlier. The exhaustion is palpable, but so is the sense of accomplishment in having survived another night.

As a Postpartum Doula and Newborn Care Specialist, I offer support to new dads during this sacred time. As a postpartum doula my expertise and guidance can help dads adjust to, and confidently navigate, the demands of late-night caregiving. I can offer practical assistance with tasks such as diaper changing, cleaning,  feeding, and soothing techniques, allowing both dads and mothers to rest and recharge whenever they can.
